Arizona, here she comes!

There's nothing like an email titled "Scandal" with a one line message ("For your eyes only") that makes me want to be naughty and publish on the family blog.

(Then the joke's on me when I accidentally publish it to my own blog!)

Play ball

Yesterday Krista and Bryce arranged babysitting (thanks, Mom) and took me to the park to hit some softballs with them. When Krista instructed me to play catcher, I was shocked as how weird it felt to wear a glove, and how nervous I was of the incoming balls (that's not a comment on your pitching, Krista). Luckily for me, Bryce hit every one of them practically out of the park. Easy job to be a catcher for him.

As I was jogging about a half mile to go find a ball that Bryce pummeled, it occurred to me that I haven't played softball (or even worn a glove) for about 13 years! So naturally I was nervous to hold the Nielsens' sweet bat and have a go at Bryce's fireballs. What I mean is, I literally had to ask Bryce and Krista to not laugh, because I was pretty sure I wasn't going to connect ball with bat very often. But you know what? I actually did. And they didn't laugh (even when they could have). And when I really slammed a few of the balls, and they rolled past the pitcher's mound, I was so proud that I kept repeating "I can't believe I hit that!"

And I felt like Bob.
"I sail!
I'm a sailor! I sail!
On a boat on the lake.
Very far away from the dock.
Into the wind, with the sky and everything."
--"What About Bob?"

Thanks, Krista and Bryce for having faith in me. And for stifling your laughs. And for going back for my cell phone. Do you have to move away, now that I've discovered my new talent?

(The last time I played "ball," I think.)

Some of the finer details:
Please pay attention to the intricacies of the hairdo--exquisite. Also, the beauty of the corsage. Lastly, the sweet swim suit tan line Hez acquired yesterday. What a brown beauty.

What is Heather doing tonight???

Hot Mama! What other words could express how good Hez looked? Aunt Carolyn kept repeating over and over how good Heather looked--so we thought you all should be the judges. Personally, I think her make-up looks dang hot. Nice alterations on the dress, Mom. Nice hair, Sis Pullham. We love Hez.

We miss Kimmie

While you were away, Kim, we asked the grandkids to say a word or two. Please view the following video and pay special attention to the tender way Liza avoids looking at the camera! Ha. Hope your day is good.

Party, IKEA style

You know it's time for a Wilson party when the street is transformed into a Subaru used car lot, and when the window looks like this.

(Pay no attention to the unfinished addition room behind the glass. At least Dad's jeans are down now.)

P.S. We didn't have to label Becca's because hers was the one with crusty OJ in the bottom.

Kitty in the corner (of Jordy's garage)

Last week Mark got a phone call. He took it to the bedroom, so I couldn't hear. After he hung up he called Sage and Eliza to come look at something on the computer with him. When I snuck up behind them to get in on the big secret, I found them oohing and aahing at this picture: AND discussing which cat they'd like to bring home.
Which was followed by our morning prayer where Sage prayed "Thank you that we can probably see and pet the kitties sometime."
I can't wait to return the favor when Micah gets older.

Happy birthday, Rich

I know you are so happy to see this picture again, Rich.

Rich holding Lily in front of the Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem.
Rich at the Louvre.
Rich in front of some nasty skulls in a museum in Paris.

Rich and the Christmas Eiffel tower in blue.

Rich and a frog. In Paris. I better stop narrating because I'm out of my league now.

After Rich left for college nine months ago, Sage and Eliza continually asked when we would next see him. Each time we pulled up at Mom and Dad's, they would ask, "Is Richie going to scare us this time?" And when they saw his blue car they would get excited (even when it was on a jack in the driveway). In fact, Sage regularly compared other blue cars on the road to Rich's. "That blue one is like Richie's, but it doesn't have a rack on top." or "That one doesn't have four doors like Richie's."

Rich may ride a mean motorcycle, but he is a huge softie with his nieces.

They can hardly believe the good news that he is back for the summer.
And that he is the big 1-9 today. Happy birthday, little bro. Is it time for a Ruby River repeat? Or a closet clean out, with free services provided by me?!?

I hope you have a good celebration, Rich. But just remember to not eat too much oily cookie dough today. Or ride on a chair that's being pulled behind a truck. Or make a homemade bomb. Etc.
