Ready, set, blow!

In this picture Dad is: (choose the best answer)

a. teaching Rich how to catch a fly in his mouth
b. pretending to preach from a Rameumptom

c.
losing an FHE bubble gum blowing contest
d. winning an FHE bubble gum blowing contest

The real winner, surprising as it may seem, is...Mom!

Apparently Kim tried to spit out her gum at someone when she realized her little tiny 1-inch bubble was not going to win. Hey, at least she got a 1-inch bubble! That's pretty good for Kim!

The contest pictured here was who could have the biggest bubble when the camera's timer went off. Looks like Mom wins again. (Although if the camera had gone off 3 seconds before, Heather might have taken the prize.)

The little lovebirds. (Dad, she's totally schooling you in the bubble gum blowing. Is this an indication of what might have happened in those racquetball games so long ago?)

A pretty cool bubble by Heather. Possibly even cooler when it splattered all over her face.

Rich can do this kind of thing in his sleep.

Sloppy Joes

Danielle, Jacob, and Cindy,
We have been mourning your absence, but tonight we celebrated your nonattendance at dinner group with Becca's tasty Sloppy Joes. Now that we've gotten in our fill of "contraband" foods, please come home. We're bored.
Sage cried today when I turned onto our street instead of going one more down to your house. Eliza has no one to read to (or on), or pick bows off their head. We're really suffering.

Snowshoeing in swimsuits

Question: What do you do on President's Day weekend when you get to the the road to the hot springs just to find it's closed?

Answer: Go snowshoeing in swimsuits

Suzy, Bryce, Rich, Jordan, Rebecca, Heather, Mom, Dad
Not pictured: those who died of frostbite in the swimsuit stunt earlier. And Ryan, the photographer.

A little brotherly love
Rebecca and Rich are playing the game where you try to push each other over without moving your own feet at all.

Hot basketball mama Heather

Take a look at our basketball superstar! Heather's team finished 3rd in the nation, I think. (Or maybe it was region. I forget.)

Check out that beautiful free throw form. I'm sure she made the shot, which probably won the game for the Lady T-birds.

Go, numero tres.

Heather's so fast the camera couldn't keep up.

Good job, Heath. We're proud of you, and are excited to have you home in the evenings now. Don't pick up any new hobbies for at least a week, ok?

Dancing queen

"You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen." (Abba)

Well, Kim's definitely sweet, and she definitely won the "dancing queen" award in our books. But hopefully she looks a little older than 17. (Even though she does still fit in her high school formal! You go, Kim!)

Another fitting musical quote for our dancing queen:
"Bed, bed, I couldn't go to bed. My head's too light to try to set it down. Sleep, sleep, I couldn't sleep tonight. Not for all the jewels in the crown. I could have danced all night, and still have begged for more...." (My Fair Lady) Watch out boys! And watch out, Kim!

I love this picture because you can see Kim three times in the mirrors. Almost as good as the sealing room mirrors. : )

Becca's senior recital

hot (ht)adj. hot·ter, hot·test
1. Having or giving off heat; capable of burning.
2. Being at a high temperature.
3. Becca in her salmon-pink dress.
4. Becca's oboe playing on at her senior recital.
5. The picture below.

Becca performed four pieces last night at her senior recital. They were amazing!

And she looked fabulous, in spite of her never-fail red-eye smile for the camera.

Star performer and lucky husband

For those of you who haven't heard the news, Mom and Dad got a new doll.

It's the "Pioneer Baby" edition of Cabbage Patch Kids.

Cabin weekend

We spent MLK weekend at a friend's cabin just past Sundance. In addition to games, big screen movies, snowshoeing, balcony jumping (see movie below), amazing food (thanks Mom), and the overnight arrival of 2+ feet of snow, we also had a great time just hanging out.

This is the van after a big snow and a lot of shoveling.

Who needs Guitar Hero when you have icicles like this?

Kim, the hottie, posing by the snow out the backdoor. She is only 5', but the snow is almost as tall as she is!

Rich wooed us all with his secret recipe for Chocolate Mint shakes.
I'm not really sure what Heather is doing, but she made some sweet cards.

And what's a 3-day weekend at a cabin without a little balcony jumping? This video is of Jordan's first jump. Heather and Rich both took the plunge, too. Rich lost his shoe about 5 feet under the surface after his jump, so Jordan went deep snow diving for it. Click here if you can't pull up the clip.
