It only took 2 weeks, and the first big rain this summer gave Krista and Bryce and the poor rain gutters a run for their money and umbrellas. This picture shows the rain pouring down into the crack between the addition and the old house. Imagine water everywhere two stories below.
We owe Danielle for spotting the flooding at 10:30pm on Sunday night, and Bryce and Adam who worked past midnight rigging up tarps to divert the water. And many thanks heavenward that the water that leaked down the chandelier above the stairs all night didn't electrocute anyone. And, of course, thanks for the moisture. I guess we prayed ourselves into this one.
(And thanks to Jordan for fixing all the rentals' problems. And thanks to me for living in Salt Lake and writing blogs about the work everyone else is doing to maintain Mom and Dad's assets while they take a little sabbatical and while Heather studies finer art forms!)

I guess we also owe thanks to Jacob, because if he hadn't thrown all the balls in the downstairs bathroom, I wouldn't have noticed the water. (But I'm not going to thank him for throwing them in the toilet.)
Or the whole roll of toilet paper, either. At least he didn't flush.
