Canning tomatoes

The happy time of year has come again...it's canning time!
Thanks to Dad's 60 tomato plants

Have you ever seen so many grape tomatoes on one plant?

Sage was definitely the most enthusiastic (and messiest) helper.

We survived, thanks to Rich for setting up the feature movie, "The Count of Monte Cristo," including surround sound.

Total yield: 52 jars of tomatoes
Stay tuned for next week's crop (and peaches soon to follow)
Sign up today for your next shift at the Wilson Cannery!

I'll sign up instead for my shift at sneaking canned tomatoes out of the garage and using them in dinner. Yum.

I've already taken that shift, Danielle...hence the guilt that led me to go help can!

I'll volunteer to be on the babysitting shift while everyone else is canning! :)

That might be enough tomatoes to make just enough ketchup to last me a year. Ha! Looks like a lot of work, too bad Kelly's not there to help with this project.

Mickey beat me to it and he's supposed to be working. I would gladly sign up for a shift or two if someone would fly me out there. I can't believe the wedding flowers are still around. Have fun canning!

Is there a peach canning session coming up too? I was hoping there would be a sizable stash of those in the garage too.

If there is a peach one, I'm flying out for that one. I love the smell of fresh peaches.

Anything to get the Standifords to visit. And, perhaps, we could arrange for a realtor to meet them at the airport, holding a fresh basket of peaches from the Wilson orchard!

Sounds good to me.
